The 15-year-old Murrieta boy arrested for stabbing his 16-year-old brother last week was charged today with one count of assault with a deadly weapon and was ordered to remain in the juvenile detention center.

According to John Hall of the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, the boy was identified as Alison Paul Casillas. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with force likely to cause great bodily injury. There is also an enhancement of personal use of a knife.

During the detention hearing, Casillas was ordered to return to court for further proceedings on Sept. 16.

Hall said he could not comment further on the case.

Murrieta Police Officers responded to 40125 Los Alamos Road at 3:05 p.m. Aug. 23 and discovered that the 16-year-old had been stabbed several times by his younger brother, according to a news release. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
