Murrieta Chamber of Commerce honorees, from left: Kimberly Davidson, Citizen of the Year; Cy Rathbun, Ambassador of the Year; Charlie and Kari Hannum, Small Business of the Year for Mail Center & More; Mariann Schiewe, Nonprofit of the Year for Murrieta Food Pantry; Paul Little, Entrepreneur of the Year for Shamrocks Irish Pub & Eatery; Murrieta Mayor Alan Long; Patrick Ellis, CEO of the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce; Michael Fisher, Volunteer of the Year.

Members of the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce and community business owners honored by the organization were recognized Aug. 30 before the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball game.

Murrieta Mayor Alan Long (right) and Chamber CEO Patrick Ellis (below) participated in the first pitch ceremonies and all award winners from the Chamber's recent awards program were introduced. Long also took part in a golf putting exercise between innings, defeating Storm mascot Thunder.

Local resident and professional singer Joanna Pearl sang the national anthem. Her album "Sensitive Material EP" debuted last week.

Chamber of Commerce and city officials are now preparing for "Get Shamrocked," one of the city's biggest social events, Sept. 19-21. Details are available at www.getshamrocked.com.


After the pregame ceremonies, those representing Murrieta enjoyed a 5-2 Storm victory over the visiting Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

The Storm completed its regular season Sunday and will open the playoffs later this week.
