A Murrieta man was arrested Monday, Aug. 11 after police officers found more than 1,100 marijuana plants in his home.

At 7:17 a.m., the Murrieta Fire Department forced entry into a garage in the 29000 block of Maxmillian Avenue for a possible electrical box fire. Once inside the residence, there was evidence of marijuana cultivation, according to a news release from Murrieta Police.

At 1:35 p.m., Murrieta Police officers contacted Nelson Ho as he was attempting to leave the Maxmillian home. Further investigation the marijuana plants in various stages of growth, and improvised electrical wiring to bypass the electrical meter. Ho was arrested for marijuana cultivation, marijuana sales and theft of utilities, and later booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
