A traffic enforcement stop in Murrieta today resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple charges, including drug possession and possession of a loaded firearm.

At 8:33 a.m., a Murrieta Police Department officer stopped a Honda Civic at the intersection of Clinton Keith Road and McElwain Road. According to a news release, the driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a stimulant drug.

Raymond Xavier Orozco, 26, of Lake Elsinore admitted to ingesting methamphetamine earlier and to possessing a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine. The officer recovered .6 grams of methamphetamine inside Orozco's pants pocket.

A search of Orozco's vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded Ruger MK .22 caliber handgun. A clear plastic bag of "shaved" car keys was also located.

Orozco was arrested for the following charges:

-- Possession of a controlled substance
-- Possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of methamphetamine
-- Driving under the influence of drugs
-- Possession of burglary tools
-- Driving on a suspended license
