Each week of the school year, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Mesa High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Mesa High School Athletes of the Week:

Quarterback Peyton Uhl passed for 202 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Rams football team to a 31-27 victory over Palm Springs in the school's Homecoming game Sept. 19. Behind Uhl's leadership, Murrieta Mesa is 3-1 on the season heading into Friday's game at Jurupa Hills.

Scarlett Steele is one of the top singles players on the girls tennis team, which continues to dominate competition in the nonleague season. Steele won all three of her sets in the Rams' most recent match, a 17-1 victory over Hemet.

Dominique Healy was honored for her success with the girls golf team. Smriti Sharma was honored in girls volleyball for her overall play.

Cross country runner Chelsea Weldon helped the Rams to a top 10 finish in the Woodbridge Invitational last weekend.

Ty Gilbert has 30 goals and 23 assists for the boys water polo team, which is 9-2 this season. "He plays great and never quits," said his coach, Audra Woods. "He is a true leader in the pool."

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Murrieta Mesa High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced the first week of October.
