Each week of the school year, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Mesa High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Mesa High School Athletes of the Week:

Water polo player Jordan Bayley led the Rams to the championship of the San Gorgonio Tournament over the weekend. The team went 5-0 en route to the title. "He's the backbone of our defense," said coach Audra Woods.

Quarterback Peyton Uhl was honored again for his accomplishments on the football field. He completed 13 of 21 passes for 400 yards and four touchdowns in the Rams' 48-7 victory over Jurupa Hills.

Charlotte Greek helped set up the offense up to be successful in the girls volleyball team's tournament play last weekend in San Diego.

Blair Board is just a sophomore for the boys cross country team but has improved significantly since his freshman year, said coach Aaron Ballou. Blair has gone from being the third fastest freshman last year to running in his first varsity meet this week.

Also honored for their accomplishments over the last week were Zyla Guthrie of the girls tennis team and Juliana Hanson of the girls golf team.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Murrieta Mesa High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced next week.
