Members of the Murrieta Police Department and Murrieta Fire Department again participated in the 9/11 tribute run Thursday morning.

Thirty members of both departments ran five miles carrying guidons (American Flag and 9/11 Tribute Flag). The 9/11 tribute run was first organized by Murrieta Police Sgt. Daryl Underwood 10 years ago. Each year since its inception, members of the city's public safety departments meet at 7 a.m. under the 9/11 memorial in Town Center Park.

The tribute run this year was completed by members of the Fire Department donning full turn-out gear, as well as Police Department SWAT Team members running in full tactical gear, including heavy vest and helmet.
