Murrieta Mesa High School's football team finished nonleague play on a high note Friday night, dominating Jurupa Hills in a 48-7 victory on the road.

The Rams improved their record to 4-1 heading into a bye week before they open Southwestern League play at Murrieta Valley Oct. 10.

Mesa wasted no time taking control of the game, opening up a 20-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Quarterback Peyton Uhl threw touchdown passes to Austen Salcedo (70 yards), Jacob Ray (40 yards) and Joseph Pinkava (70 yards).

Uhl threw two more TD passes in the second quarter and Murrieta Mesa led 34-0 at halftime. Jurupa Hills (1-4) didn't score until the last two minutes of the game.
