The Old Town Temecula Community Theater will be hosting "Beatles vs. Stones - a Musical Shootout" and let the fans decide, which band is the king of the British invasion.

Since 2011, cover bands, Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash, have toured across the western United States, going head-to-head in performing arts centers, casinos, and clubs. The show recently concluded a three month residency at the showroom of Harrah's Reno.

During shows, the bands perform six alternating sets and perform a final encore together. Band members exchange tongue-in-cheek barbs about the rivalry.

Rather than being rivals, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles were close to each other. The Stones' first hit was the Beatles song "I Wanna Be Your Man" and it was George Harrison who recommended that Decca sign the Stones after the record company passed on the Beatles. Mick Jagger inducted the Beatles into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

“In fact, the Beatles and the Stones were fast friends,” said Young Hutchison, who plays “Keith Richards” in the show.  “But if you were a 60’s kid, you had to be one or other – not both.”

Abbey Road promises a 30-song performance, divided by three sets, and performed in chronological order.

Jumping Jack Flash promises their three sets of Stones' hits are guaranteed to get even the most devoted Beatles fan dancing on their feet.

Due to brisk sales, a second show had been added to the musical shootout. On Jan. 11, shows will be at 2 p.m. and now 7 p.m. as well. Tickets for the event will range from $25 to $30 and is appropriate for people of all ages.
