Girls volleyball player Amanda Pedersen-Henry and boys cross country runner Eric Nunez were recently honored as the Murrieta 24/7 Athletes of the Month for October, representing Vista Murrieta High School.

Pedersen-Henry has been a varsity volleyball starter for four years. This year she avreaged 13 kills a match as a middle blocker.

"Amanda also contributes on defense and plays all six rotations," said her coach, Kristen Cooke. "Amanda leads her team through hard work and her will to win."

Nunez, a junior and captain of the varsity cross country team as voted by his teammates, recently won the second league cluster meet, held at Vail Lake. He also ran a 15:30 Oct. 25 at the Mt. SAC Invitational, placing him in the school's top 10 all-time for that meet.

"Throughout the season he has proven to be a strong leader, not only with his commitment to his teammates on the field, but also his dedication in the classroom," said his coach, Karen Candaele.

Pedersen-Henry and Nunez received a certificate and Target gift card from Murrieta 24/7.

These are the last fall sports athletes to be honored by Murrieta 24/7. Winter sports athletes will be honored beginning in December.
