Four year letterman and three year captain of the girls Murrieta Mesa High School basketball team, Mikayla Greens, has committed to play for the Air Force Academy with a full scholarship.
 
Greens became the first Division 1 basketball recruit ever out of the Murrieta Mesa basketball program, boys or girls, and is only the second overall Division 1 recruit out of Murrieta Mesa since they opened their doors in 2009.
 
Last season, she was voted first team All-Southwestern League and second team All-CIF Southern Section. Greens led her team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots during her junior year.
 
Greens not only excelled on the basketball court, but academically as well. She carries a 3.9 GPA and ranks highly within he senior class. She also has volunteered within her community, most recently helping out with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Tonight, the Rams of Murrieta Mesa, led by Greens, will open their new season at home, against Hemet High School at 6 p.m.
