Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Mesa High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Mesa High School Athletes of the Week:

Andre Zayas led the boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Murrieta Valley on Jan. 14 for the second league win in the school's history. Two days later, he scored two goals in the second half to help the Rams to a 2-2 tie with Temecula Valley.

Octavia Williams is averaging just under 15 points per game for the girls basketball team. Coach Kyle Rouse said Williams "has been a great team captain up to this point. We are very proud of what Octavia has become as a player and a student on campus."

Representing the boys basketball team is Bryan Phan, who led his team in points, rebounds and assists last week.

Also honored for their accomplishments last week were girls water polo player Grace Hansen, girls soccer player Danielle Clark, and wrestler Brandon Dristy.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Murrieta Mesa High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced early in February.
