Murrieta Police are searching for the suspect in a robbery at the Chevron Gas Station on Murrieta Hot Springs Road Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call at 11:37 p.m. at 39440 Murrieta Hot Springs Road. According to police, Chevron employees said the business was robbed at gunpoint by an adult male wearing a ski mask, black jacket and blue jeans. Employees said the suspect walked into the business with a black semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at them while demanding money and American Spirit cigarettes.

The employees complied with the suspect and gave him all the money in the drawer, as well as the cigarettes. After taking the requested items, the suspect exited the business and fled the scene eastbound toward Murrieta Hot Springs Road. No other suspects or suspect vehicle was observed. None of the employees or patrons at the business were harmed.

Patrol units immediately began searching the area but the suspect was not located. The scene was processed and the investigation is continuing.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, 20-30 years old, approximately 5-foot-11, 150-170 pounds with a thin build, blond hair and acne on his face. The suspect wore a black jacket, blue jeans and a black ski type mask with a skull type design on the front that only exposed the subject's eyes and mouth area.

The suspect in this case matches the description in a similar robbery that occurred Jan. 13 at the Taco Bell on Madison Avenue.
