Vista Murrieta High School will be in action in both boys and girls soccer this week and the Murrieta Mesa girls will also take the field as the CIF playoffs begin.

Vista's boys team will be at home for a 5 p.m. game against Apple Valley in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs on Friday. The Broncos won the Southwestern League with an 8-0-2 record and are 17-4-4 overall. They are led by senior center midfielder Aydan Bowers, who leads the team with a school-record 18 goals.

Apple Valley finished second in the Mojave Valley River League with a 5-2-3 record (7-6-7 overall).

In girls soccer, Murrieta Mesa enters the Division 2 playoffs as the Southwestern League champion (7-2-1, 17-4-1). The Rams will be at home for a game against Citrus Valley, which finished third in the Citrus Belt League with a 10-2-2 record (14-4-2 overall).

Also in girls Division 2, Vista Murrieta (4-2-4, 12-2-4) will play at Freeway League champion Troy (10-0, 17-1-5) on Thursday.
