After a full week of CIF playoff action, only one Murrieta high school team is remaining in the postseason.

As previously reported here, the Vista Murrieta High School girls basketball team must wait two weeks to play again following its 58-54 loss to Long Beach Poly Tuesday night. Because the Broncos (22-7) played in the top-level Open Division in the CIF Southern Section, they advanced to the state tournament based on their first-round victory over Keppel on Feb. 18.

Also on Tuesday, the Murrieta Mesa girls soccer team lost a 2-1 decision in overtime at Bishop Amat, dropping out of the Division 2 playoffs.

In boys soccer, Vista Murrieta was eliminated from the Division 4 playoffs in a 1-0 loss to Norwalk on Wednesday.

In girls basketball, Murrieta Mesa lost to Patriot 41-31 and Murrieta Valley lost to Newbury Park 58-50 in second-round action.

In girls water polo, Murrieta Valley lost to El Toro 11-9 Wednesday at the William Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine.
