A Murrieta man was found guilty today of the 2013 murder of his grandmother, the Riverside County District Attorney's Office announced.

Kyle Roger McLean, 23, was convicted of first-degree murder and faces from 32 years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for April 10. The jury took just two hours of deliberation to deliver the verdict at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Catherine Sutton, 71, was reported missing from her Murrieta home on Juy 14, 2013. Based on evidence collected at the scene, police determined she had been murdered and arrested McLean for her murder.

According to the District Attorney's Office, it is believed that McLean placed the victim's body in a plastic tub and drove to an unknown location in the mountains, where he dumped her body. Sutton's body has never been found.
