Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Valley High School Athletes of the Week:

Sage Casaga is a senior captain on the boys golf team. He shot a 73-75 for a fourth-place finish at the recent North County Tournament. He also shot a 36 in the Nighthawks' Southwestern League opener to help the team shoot a 183, its best team score of the year.

Senior baseball player Aaron Shackelford is hitting .413 with 15 RBIs for the Nighthawks, who are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Junior Alexandria Jones is the No 1 sprinter on the girls track team. "She always comes with the right attitude and as a captain is a wonderful leader," said her coach, Fabrice Vuillemey.

Kade Mueller is a junior pole vaulter for the boys track team who reached his best mark against Murrieta Mesa last week.

Boys lacrosse goalie Christian Ulibarri "stepped up and did an amazing job in two2 big games last week," said his coach, Chris Cornils.

Trevor Richardson
led the boys volleyball team with five kills and added three digs in a match against Garey High school.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Murrieta Valley High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced in mid-April. Anyone wishing to order a glossy print of this article with photo may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
