A Murrieta woman was one of two arrested Saturday when Sheriff's deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station discovered them in possession of 10 grams of methamphetamine and additional narcotic paraphernalia, according to authorities.

Tonya Betz, 25, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance after deputies conducted an investigation at the Travel Inn in the 31600 block of Auto Center Drive, police said. Jonathan Leo Ruggles, 35 and a transient from the San Juan Capistrano area, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and for resisting arrest.

Deputies made contact with the couple at 5:25 p.m. Saturday. Ruggles was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. He was transported to Southwest Detention Center.
