Murrieta Police are searching for a man who robbed the Visterra Credit Union this morning.

According to a news release, officers responded to the business at 25040 Hancock Ave. at 9:54 a.m. Employees told officers a lone male entered the credit union and walked up to the bank teller with his hands in his pockets. The suspect then handed the teller a note demanding money.

No other patrons were inside the credit union at the time of the robbery, police said. No employees were injured. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency toward the Stater Bros. grocery store.

A search of the area for the suspect was conducted and the investigation is continuing. The FBI was notified and also will be investigating this robbery.

The suspect is described as an African American male, age 20-30, 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 5 inches with a think build. He was wearing a navy blue baseball hat, gray hoody sweatshirt and blue jeans. The man also had athletic tape on his fingertips.
