Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Vista Murrieta High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Vista Murrieta High School Athletes of the Week:

Senior Brandon Nelson pitched all three games in one week, giving up only two runs in 9.2 innings. He has a 2.14 ERA for the Broncos, who are 6-3 overall.

Sophomore sprinter Cole Dubots ran an area-leading time of 10.75 in the 100 meters in a recent meet. He also ran a leg for the state-leading 4x100 relay team and a leg for the 4x200 relay team, whose times lead the nation.

Haley Mounga
of the girls track team, also a sophomore, threw an area-leading 35-7 in the shot put recently.

Damon Dubots had 12 kills in a recent match against Perris for the boys volleyball team.

Yvonne Siordia is hitting .444 for the softball team, which is 6-1 this season.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Vista Murrieta High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced in early April. Anyone wishing to order a glossy print of this article with photo may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
