Police are searching for a Wildomar man missing since March 20, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Daniel Ferguson, 50, was reported missing by a family member at noon on March 20. Ferguson reportedly told family members he was going camping in the Ortega Mountains. According to police, a neighbor took him to a location off the South Main Divide, located off Ortega Highway. Ferguson told the friend he was going to travel the world, police said.

Wildomar Police and the police helicopter searched the area but were unable to locate Ferguson. According to family members, he has traveled long distances on foot in the past. Ferguson was wearing a brown leather jacket and black jeans. He was also equipped with camping equipment, food, water and a cellular telephone.

The Wildomar Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen Ferguson to contact Investigator Cornett at 951-245-3357 to report his location.
