The suspect in an attempted murder in February was arrested by Sheriff's deputies March 29 in Temecula, authorities said today.

Leonard Young, an escaped fugitive from the state of Washington, was located in the 41000 block of Winchester Road about 12:20 a.m. on March 29, according to a news release. He was taken into custody after a brief scuffle and was booked into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder, threatened crime with intent to terrorize and assault with a deadly weapon. He was also booked for resisting arrest.

The charges are related to an incident on Feb. 22, when deputies responded to an altercation. Upon arrival, they determined Young attacked his roommate by battering and choking the victim before fleeing the location.
