Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Valley High School Athletes of the Week:

Junior infielder Amber Bishop of the softball team had huge performances in three games of the Santiago Spring Fling Tournament over spring break. She was 10 for 11 with two doubles, one home run and seven RBIs. The Nighthawks are 15-5 overall.

Senior pitcher Nicko Cottone had winning performances against Murrieta Mesa and Charter Oak for the Murrieta Valley baseball team, which is 13-3 overall. Cottone is 4-0 this season.

David Ramirez won all three sets against his opponents in leading the Nighthawks tennis team to victory over Chaparral.

Kyle Bachelor of the golf team had three subpar rounds of 35, 35 and 70 in a recent 18-hole match.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Murrieta Valley High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced in early May. Anyone wishing to order a glossy print of this article with photo may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
