Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Vista Murrieta High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Vista Murrieta High School Athletes of the Week:

Michael Norman had a phenomenal day for the boys track team in the Arcadia Invitational last weekend.

Norman set a county record in winning the 400 meters in 45.91. That was also an Arcadia Invitational record and is the No. 1 mark in the nation.

In addition, he ran a leg in the Broncos' winning efforts in the 4x100 relay (40.68) and 4x200 relay (1:24.58). Both times are county records. The team's time in the 4x100 is the best in the USA this year and the 4x200 time is second best in California history.

Pitcher and first baseman Connor Cannon of the baseball team hit two home runs and got the pitching victory in a win over Chaminade in the Boras Classic.

Volleyball player Trevor Forester performed well in two key matches last week.

"Trevor stepped up against West Valley and Heritage," said his coach, Matt Mosiello. "He played outside hitter in both of those game because Jamie (Nunley) was out against West Valley and Daniel (Jourdier) was hurt against Heritage. Trevor stepped in and did a great job!"

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Vista Murrieta High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced in mid-April. Anyone wishing to order a glossy print of this article with photo may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
