A 20-year-old Los Angeles man is in police custody on suspicion of having an unlawful online relationship with a French Valley minor.

Javier Flores Lopez was arrested by Bakersfield Police April 18 on multiple counts of having unlawful sexual contact with a child under the age of 14, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Investigators discovered evidence that Flores may have been in an unlawful relationship with another minor in French Valley.

A Riverside County Sheriff's investigator discovered that Flores met the minor over the Internet and developed an online relationship with the intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity, according to police. Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Flores for contact with a minor with the intent to commit sexual offenses and distribution of sexually explicit matter over the Internet.

Flores was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail and later extradited to Riverside County, where he is being held on $2 million bail.
