Library Offers Cooking Demonstrations, Music Recital

Several special programs are scheduled for the Murrieta Public Library in July, including two events offering cooking and baking tips.

On July 2 at 3 p.m., Susan Carberry, professional cake designer and owner of the Cake Cottage, will demonstrate special techniques to decorate cupcakes. Everyone will get a cupcake to decorate. This event is limited to 20 adult participants. An opportunity drawing for a gift certificate will be offered near the end of the program.

July 13 at 6 p.m., culinary expert Mia Cucuta will demonstrate how to make three types of salsa with fresh ingredients. This event is limited to 20 adult participants. An opportunity drawing for a gift certificate will be offered near the end of the program.

Also, on July 8 at 3 p.m., Yiyi Ku, principal pianist with Inland Valley Symphony, along with some young musicians, will perform a special recital. Families are welcome.

For the programs with space limitations, free passes will be available in the library’s foyer 30 minutes before each program begins and participants must be present to receive pass. All programs will be held in the library’s Community Room.

These events are free and open to the public and are part of the "Read to the Rhythm!" Summer Reading Program sponsored by the Friends of the Murrieta Library.
