Tennis player David Ramirez and softball standout Amber Bishop are the Murrieta 24/7 Athletes of the Month for May from Murrieta Valley High School, sponsored by SunPro Solar.

Ramirez was honored as the school's Athlete of the Week last week for his performance with the boys tennis team. He competed in the CIF individual tournament as his school's only representative. During the Southwestern League season, he finished second in the singles competition.

Ramirez is only a sophomore.

Bishop is a junior infielder for the Nighthawks softball team, which went undefeated in league play and finished the season 26-7 after advancing to the third round of the CIF playoffs.

She hit .602 this season with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs.

The future is bright for Nighthawk sports with both of these players returning next year. Each received a certificate from Murrieta 24/7 and two day passes to Rock Fitness gym from SunPro Solar, the sponsor of the award.

This completes the Murrieta 24/7 athlete awards program for this school year. We wish to congratulate all the athletes who were honored.
