Dozens of computers and other materials were seized Thursday, Aug. 6 as part of an investigation of a local business suspected of being an illegal online gaming operation.

A search warrant was served by Special Enforcement Team detectives, members of the Riverside County District Attorney's Office and other members of the Murrieta Police Department at Talk-N-Win, located at 33050 Antelope Road, Suite 209, according to an MPD news release. According to authorities, the business was operating under the guise of an Internet/cyber cafe in the Antelope Square commercial center, just south of the Menifee border.

For several months, authorities said, Talk-N-Win was operating within a loophole in state law allowing for unregulated online gaming. A bill passed into law in September 2014 created tighter restrictions on online gaming establishments. After the passage of that bill, undercover detectives determined that Talk-N-Win was operating an illegal and unregulated gaming establishment. It was also operating without a valid City of Murrieta business license.

A patron contacted during the service of Thursday's search warrant was arrested and later released on citation for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and an open container or alcohol. No other arrests were made.

Authorities will conduct forensic analysis of the computer equipment and the case will be forwarded to the DA's Office for criminal prosecution, according to the news release.
