A Canyon Lake man and a transient woman were arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Friday, Sept. 11, the Murrieta Police Department announced today.

Jacob Jobgen, 20, and Rebekkah Radtke, 24, were taken into custody after they were approached by police in a car parked in the 25500 block of Madison Avenue about 7:07 p.m. on Sept. 11. It was discovered that Jobgen is on probation. A cell phone matching the description of one taken during a burglary at 5 a.m. that day was discovered. Further investigation revealed that a new laptop in the vehicle had been purchased with a credit card belonging to the burglary victim.

Officers initially responded to the burglary call at a residence on Ridgewalk Street. The victim reported that two suspects fled the residence when she awoke to feed her infant. Several items were taken by the suspects, including the victim's purse, cell phone and a tablet.

Jobgen was arrested and booked at Southwest Jail. He is on active probation for drug related charges. Radtke was released on a citation.
