A special meeting of the Murrieta City Council will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. to hear the report of a private investigator concerning the conduct of Mayor Harry Ramos.

The special investigation by a third party was authorized by the City Council on June 25 following allegations of misconduct involving Ramos, including accusations of inappropriate conduct with women and misuse of his office. Ramos also is being accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed by a local woman.

Ramos previously said he welcomed the investigation to clear his name, saying he had nothing to hide. He has maintained his innocence from the beginning.

According to the agenda for Thursday's meeting, possible action taken by the City Council could range from receiving and filing the report to issuing a censure to removing Ramos from his position as mayor.
