Murrieta Mesa High School finished its football season on a high note Friday night, scoring a 45-21 home victory over Chaparral.

The Rams (5-5, 2-3) didn't make the CIF playoffs but Friday's win marked the first time they have won more than one game in the Southwestern League. After falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter, Mesa fought back to lead 28-21 at halftime and 38-21 after three quarters. The Rams defense shut out Chaparral in the second half.

Quarterback Peyton Uhl passed for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. McKinley Ross led Mesa ballcarriers with 138 yards rushing and a touchdown.
