Vista Murrieta High School will try to earn a return trip to the CIF Southern Section football finals tonight when the Broncos play Rancho Cucamonga in a 7 p.m. West Valley Division game at Los Osos High.

The Broncos improved their record to 11-1 with a 21-14 victory at Upland last week. If Vista beats Rancho Cucamonga (9-3) tonight, it could be looking at a CIF championship game rematch with Mission Viejo, which defeated the Broncos 21-10 in the finals a year ago.

Mission Viejo plays Chino Hills tonight in the other semifinal.

Vista Murrieta pulled out a narrow victory over Upland when junior running back Cole Dubots ran 96 yards for a touchdown late in the game. The Broncos are led by junior quarterback Karson Greeley, who has passed for 2,015 yards and 21 touchdowns, and Dubots, who has rushed for 795 yards and 14 TDs. Senior wide receiver Kyle Williams has caught 44 passes for 779 yards and 7 TDs.

Murrieta 24/7 will provide score updates and a complete game report.
