A large group of Murrieta Valley High athletes signed letters of intent to accept scholarships Wednesday.

Lineman Quireo Woodley officially committed to Fresno State Wednesday, heading a group of five football players and 20 athletes from Murrieta Valley High School who signed letters of intent to accept college scholarships.

Woodley, 6 feet 4 inches and 270 pounds, was a key player on the line for the Nighthawks, who finished the season 9-3. The other football players signing were lineman Alex Fewell (Northern Arizona), lineman Dexter Cole (Whittier College), defensive end Cade Vinskey (Arizona Christian) and linebacker Mazin Khalil (Western New Mexico).

Members of the school's powerful water polo programs committed as well. Hudson Rawling committed to Brown, Tara Prentice chose UCLA and Delayne Lynton signed with UC Irvine.
