A Murrieta man was arrested on charges of drug possession and resisting an officer Monday after police responded to the report of a family disturbance, authorities said today.
Andrew Davis, 26, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia as well as being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting an officer.
Officers responded at 3:30 a.m. Monday to a residence on Saint Julian Circle. The caller said that her son, identified as Davis, was under the influence of drugs and acting belligerent. A records check indicated Davis is on post release community supervision as a result of early release through AB109 following an assault conviction. He also is a narcotics registrant and a documented gang member, police said.
When officers attempted to arrest Davis, he resisted. A taser was used to subdue him. A search of his room revealed two knives, narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia. Davis was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
