Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Valley High School honorees:

Paige Siegel of the girls track team followed up strong finishes in the 1,600 and 800-meter races at a dual meet against Heritage with even better performances at the Irvine Invitational last weekend. Competing in the frosh-soph division, she placed second in the 1,600 with a time of 5:18.47 and finished second by one-tenth of a second in the 800 with a time of 2:24.15.

Jake Rice also had a big day at the Irvine Invitational for the boys track team. He won the pole vault competition with a mark of 13-9. Just two days earlier, he won the pole vault in a dual meet with Heritage at 13-6.

Josh Mobley of the boys lacrosse team had six goals in a game against Hemet. He is captain of the team.

Tennis player David Ramirez was undefeated last week and has a 14-1 record.
