One man was arrested after Murrieta Police discovered a marijuana grow with more than 1,400 plants at a site in the city, police said.

Dwight Nguyen, 55, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation, marijuana sales and theft of utilities. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

The discovery was made Wednesday after detectives served a search warrant in the 39000 block of Brighton Street, according to a news release. They contacted Nguyen on site and observed improvised wiring that bypassed the electrical meter. According to police, tremendous amounts of electrical power are required to support such a sophisticated growing process.
