Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) gave official recognition to an award she announced last month, presenting Kimberly Davidson of Murrieta the District 67 Woman of the Year award on Friday.

The presentation was made during Melendez's community meeting with residents at the Shamrock Irish Pub & Eatery in Murrieta. Melendez selected Davidson as the winner of the award out of her entire district, which includes much of Southwest Riverside County.

"Kim has the biggest heart," Melendez said in presenting a plaque to Davidson. "She gives of herself and she is the most loyal person to her city. She's so proud of this city and she's always looking for ways to bring new people into the fold."

Davidson is business development manager for the City of Murrieta. She was chosen for her contributions as a business leader and volunteer in the community, according to a news release from Melendez's office. Davidson also serves on the Board of Directors of the Inland Valley Business Community Foundation and Find Me Foundation, which provides assistance to law enforcement in missing person cases.

She has served on the Board of Directors for the California Inland Counties American Marketing Association and was on the marketing committee for the Economic Development Corporation of Southwest California. She also has served as an ambassador for the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce and was manager of operations for the Professional Women's Roundtable.

"To be recognized by this amazing woman is a real honor," Davidson said in accepting the award from Melendez.
