The Murrieta Mesa High School baseball team is headed to the CIF playoffs next week after winning its first-ever Southwestern League championship this week.
The Rams wrapped up the title with a 16-5 win over Chaparral May 10 and finished the regular season with another victory over Chaparral, 10-0, on May 12. Mesa has a 22-7 overall record heading into the playoffs.
