The City of Murrieta has announced a vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission and invites interested residents 18 and older to apply.

The City Council is expected to make the appointment on Aug. 16 to fill the unscheduled vacancy. The term would end June 30, 2017.

The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the first Thursday of odd-numbered months at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioners are required to be a registered voter, take an oath, file a statement of economic interest, attend ethics training and agree to a code of conduct.

An application, along with a description of duties, may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 1 Town Square between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday or online at www.murrieta.org/commissions. For more information, contact the City Clerk’s Office at 951-461-6031.

The deadline for returning applications to the City Clerk is 5:30 p.m. July 21.
