A man accused of killing Temecula resident Tammy Serrano inside a CVS pharmacy Monday was charged with murder Thursday.

Brian Eldon Saylor, 31, of Temecula was scheduled to enter a plea at the Southwest Justice Center today, but the arraignment was continued to July 1, said John Hall of the District Attorney's Office.

Serrano, 54, was assaulted Monday night inside the CVS pharmacy on Rancho California Road in Temecula, according to police. No details of the assault were given, but a family member told NBC-4 News that the suspect hit Serrano over the head with a liquor bottle while she was standing in line at the checkout stand.

Saylor was detained by store employees and arrested on site. Serrano died the next night at Inland Valley Hospital. Community members gathered for a vigil outside the CVS store Wednesday night in memory of Serrano.
