Firefighters Quickly Contain Brush Fire in Creek Bed

Murrieta Fire Department crews quickly contained a brush fire in a creek bed near Murrieta Ranch Preschool on Lincoln Avenue Saturday, authorities said today.

The fire was reported at 5 p.m. and four engine crews responded. Firefighters accessed the area through the school and on a service road and had the fire under control in an hour, according to a news release.

The fire covered about a quarter acre and is under investigation. No structures were threatened and no one was injured.
