Murrieta City Council members Randon Lane and Harry Ramos are among 10 residents who have pulled papers with the intention to run for two council seats up for election in November.

Lane (left), who currently serves as mayor, and Ramos are both running for re-election. Lane replaced Ramos as mayor in October following allegations against Ramos of misconduct, including a lawsuit alleging sexual assault. Ramos continued in his role as a city council member, however.

Others who have pulled papers include Brian Barton, a Marine veteran who ran unsuccessfully for a council seat in 2014, and Thomas Butler, a member of the Planning Commission. The others are Stephen Espinosa, Keelan McCullough, Dennis Seyarto, Marion Ware, Robert Tyler and Rorry Larkin Lovern.

The deadline for the applicants to return their paperwork and be certified for the election is Aug. 12.
