This year's event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at Town Square Park. It is free of charge.

The police department will present several displays and informational booths, featuring SWAT team equipment, the Traffic DUI Trailer and a command post vehicle. There will also be police K-9 demonstrations. A Kids Zone will include a jumper, face painting and an obstacle course.

Other agencies with personnel available to answer questions include the Murrieta Fire Department, Murrieta Code Enforcement, U.S Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, Mercy Air Ambulance, the Community Emergency Response Team, Police Volunteer Program, Police Explorers and MPD Neighborhood Watch.

Target Stores, a national sponsor of the event, will provide a barbecue with free hot dogs and drinks. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and pop-up style shades to picnic in the park.
