Press release from the Murrieta Police Department:

The Murrieta Police Department will hold its next Coffee with a Cop event on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Chick-fil-A, located at 24794 Madison Avenue.

The mission of the Murrieta Police Department’s Coffee with a Cop program is to help break down any barriers that may exist between law enforcement and the citizens they serve. Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and community members together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other in an informal setting as well as providing an opportunity for citizens to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work. The event is intended to be free of politics and held in a casual environment that allows both officers and citizens to feel more comfortable engaging in discussion. A major goal of this program is to create a lasting bond between the community and those who serve and protect it.

Most people only meet a police officer during a moment of crisis or a traffic stop, hardly the ideal time to get to know each other. This event is designed to remove barriers and allow community members to meet their first responders on mutual grounds and sit down together while enjoying a cup of coffee.

If you have any questions about the program ,you can speak with Lieutenant Tony Conrad at 951-461-6309.
