Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Murrieta Valley honorees:

Casey Lynton is senior captain of the boys water polo team and is leading the team in scoring. He was a 2015 All-American, first-team All-CIF and first-team all-league player.

Lika Palmer rushed for 121 yards in the football team's game against Rancho Cucamonga, giving him 307 yards and 5 touchdowns rushing this season.

Brooklyn Van Bebber had her best round of the season with a 34 last week for the girls golf team.

Tennis player Alana Andrews led her team to a 6-0 start this season. "As captain, she has motivated her teammates to do their best and to perform at a high standard," said her coach, Trent Warren. "She is always coachable and focused."

Ashlyn Gergins has had a great start for the girls volleyball team, which is 14-5 this season.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Athletes of the Month. Anyone wishing to purchase a print copy of this article may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
