A 15-year-old student at Chaparral High School was arrested Friday after threats of violence forced the cancellation of classes at the Temecula school, authorities said.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department was notified at 10 p.m. Thursday of a threat of violence at the school made on social media. Deputies began an investigation. A second threat was posted on social media Friday morning, according to a news release.

As a precaution, the Sheriff's Department bomb squad was brought in, along with bomb sniffing dogs to search the campus. Classrooms were cleared and students were sent home early, according to school officials. No threats were located and the campus was declared safe, Sheriff's Department officials said.

As a result of the investigation, the juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall for criminal terrorist and bomb threats.
