Scottish researcher Judith Brooks will be the guest speaker at Thursday's Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society Business and Program meeting, which will be held at 1 p.m. at the Mission Trail Community Library, 34303 Mission Trail, Wildomar.

The topic of this lecture, “Researching Scots in the UK," introduces the researcher to both primary and little-known online sites for the United Kingdom (including some English), Scotland, and Northern Ireland (for the Scots Irish). Brooks has been researching both her husband's and her own ancestry since 1995 when her husband became chaplain for the North County Scots and was looking for his tartan. She is a member of the North County Scots and presents free classes at the San Diego Highland Games every year in June.

The Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society Business and Program meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August) from 1-3 p.m. Visitors are welcome. Contact Candy Petersen for more information at 951-246-2028.
