Each week, Murietta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Vista Murrieta High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's honorees from Vista Murrieta:

Tommy Lotero was named MVP of the inaugural Big VII water polo tournament last weekend. The Broncos won the championship.

Golfer Bianca Bonwell shot scores of 43, 42 and 38 to help her team to three league victories last week.

Sara Lillie had a big week for the girls volleyball team. She excelled at outside hitter against Temecula Valley, then made five straight successful service points to get her team back into a game against Great Oak. "She went into two games last week and made a huge impact," said her coach, Kristen Cooke.

Both members of the tennis doubles team of Tori Paller and Julie Kim were honored. They played key roles in team victories over Temecula Valley and Great Oak.

Justin Flores and Paige Haynes were honored for their recent successes with the boys and girls cross country teams.

These athletes will be eligible for the October Athlete of the Month award. Anyone wishing to order a print copy of this article may do so by emailing murrieta247info@gmail.com.
