Each week, Murrieta 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Murrieta Mesa High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's honorees from Murrieta Mesa:

Freshman goalkeeper Brock Hendrickson made several outstanding saves in a narrow loss to Temescal Canyon for the boys soccer team. "The fact that he is a freshman and came in and was able to keep his composure and not let the nerves of being on varsity effect him allowed his teammates to feed off of his confidence," said his coach, Robert Bokma. "Being such an important position for the team, Brock is demonstrating that the Mesa boys soccer program has a great part of the foundation of the team covered to build from."

Deyjanae Williams of the girls basketball team was selected to the all-tournament first team at the West Valley Tournament. She averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game. She also was just 3 assists shy of recording the school's first-ever triple double in one of the games with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

Anthony Routh of the boys basketball team had a career-high 20 points against Paloma Valley at the Beaumont Tournament. He has averaged 15 points per game over the first four games of the season. "He has also maintained a GPA over 3.0, which is a standard we try to encourage all our athletes to maintain," said coach Chris Jones.

Two members of the wrestling team were honored. Marcus Strecker was 2-0 with 13 takedowns at 132 pounds vs. West Valley and Paloma Valley. Rodrigo Nolan was 2-0 with 2 pins at 285 pounds against the same teams last week.
