Murrieta city manager Rick Dudley confirmed today he has notified City Council members that he will retire June 30.
Dudley told Murrieta 24/7 there is "nothing exciting" behind his resignation and that it is simply a decision to retire. He has worked 35 years for public agencies, 33 for cities.
According to public records, Dudley's base salary is $223,000 and his total pay and benefits equal more than $335,000. He has served as Murrieta's city manager since November 2007. Prior to that, he worked for the City of Vista for 23 years, leaving as assistant city manager to accept the job in Murrieta.
